YumyFood - Food Delivery

The Idea

YumyFood is a full stack food delivery app I designed and built end to end – a customer storefront, a REST API backend and a separate admin panel – to practise building a real-world e-commerce flow from the ground up.

What I Built

• Customer app: explore the menu by category, add dishes to the cart and place orders
• Secure sign-up and login with JWT authentication and bcrypt password hashing
• Online payments with Stripe checkout and order status tracking
• Admin panel to add and list food items with image uploads, and to manage incoming orders

Architecture

Three separate apps in one repository: a React + Vite frontend, a React admin panel and a Node.js/Express REST API. Data lives in MongoDB via Mongoose models for users, food items and orders, with Multer and Cloudinary handling image uploads. Separate routers and controllers for users, food, cart and orders keep the API clean and easy to extend.
